DUBLIN, Ohio — Sandbox VR, a virtual reality entertainment experience, is now open in Dublin’s Bridge Park.
The socially immersive gaming experience combines full-body motion capture with high-quality haptics to provide ‘unprecedented’ realism.
Sandbox VR features four private rooms for gameplay called holodecks. Each holodeck allows groups of up to six players to work together with friends to explore virtual worlds and play Sandbox-exclusive games.
“Our team set out to build experiences where you and your team can be in the same space and touch the shoulder, high five or shake their hand,” said Steve Zhao, founder of Sandbox VR. “We felt like that was the magic moment because when someone is in VR and they can do everything very humanly and naturally that’s when they forget they’re inside a simulation.”
Guests can choose from six exclusive experiences, including Deadwood Valley, a town overrun by zombies, Star Trek: Discovery, and UFL: Unbound Fighting League.
Sandbox VR also has a location in Liberty Township near Cincinnati. Plans are in the works to open a location in Cleveland as well.
